A
Timeless Wonder
The
Kuchaman Fort in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan, is a rare masterpiece
of royal heritage. An erstwhile garrison, built by the Gurjar Pratiharas
to control the ancient trade route from Central Asia, between 450 to
750 A.D.
The
magnificent Fort rises proudly atop a 1000 feet high rock cliff. The
Fort's formidable ramparts, 32 bastions, 10 gateways, water storage
tanks, cannons, secret passages, hideouts, underground escape routes,
dungeons and an ancient floor mill, along with its rich and interesting
history, makes it a great tourist destination.
The
Fort is now Super Deluxe Heritage Hotel but its original architectural
and magnificence remains unchanged. The superlative luxury of the hotel,
set amidst centuries centuries old setting of royal splendor, presents
an amazing contrast of the modern with the ancient.
