Be sure to have your camera ready this afternoon 1600hrs game drive in search of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and much more. Overnight.

DAY 3:  AMBOSELI

You will spend a full day in Amboseli with morning 0630hrs and afternoon 1600hrs game drives. Overnight to the 392 sq km Amboseli National Park lies due south of Nairobi, within clear sight of Mt Kilimanjaro. The waters of the mountain feed the seasonal swamps and marshes on which the game and birds, which live in the park, rely. It is here that photographers will hope to shoot the classic picture of the elephant or giraffe standing against the dramatic backdrop of the snow capped mountain.

DAY 4:   AMBOSELI - LAKE NAIVASHA (Approximately 6 hours drive)

After breakfast, travel into the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha a beautiful fresh water lake, fringed by thick papyrus. Arrive in time to check in and later have lunch.  The lake is almost 13kms wide, but its waters are shallow.  The lake and its surroundings are rich in natural beauty, and the fertile soils and water supply have made this one of Kenya’s prime agricultural regions. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores.  Giraffes are often seen wondering among the acacia, buffalo wallow in the swamps and Colobus monkeys call from the treetops while the Lake’s large hippo population sleeps the day out in the shallow waters. Sunsets are stunning; with the haunting call of a Fish Eagle high over the lake bringing the day to a perfect end. Overnight.

DAY 5:  LAKE NAIVASHA – MASAI MARA (Approximately 5 ½ hours drive)

After breakfast, depart for the world famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at your lodge for check-in and have lunch. The accent here is on the Masai people and the wealth of wildlife, birdlife, and natural flora to be found in the fabled Masai Mara Game Reserve. Enjoy an afternoon 1600hrs game drive around the world famous Mara. Overnight.

DAY 6 & 7:  MASAI MARA

Full day spent in the Mara with early morning 0630hrs and afternoon 1600hrs game drives or a full day game drive in search of wildlife with picnic lunch boxes. Overnight. Masai Mara offers an absolutely unique variety of animals. The reason is that this hilly region is both humid and fertile, and is crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers, full of crocodiles and hippos. The abundance of water and excellent availability of food are the reasons why the Masai Mara, which in fact is a continuation of the Tanzanian Serengeti National Park, has the greatest population of wild animals in the whole of Africa. There is a particularly dramatic “spectacle” from July to October, the annual migration of huge herds of Gnus and zebras. Predators such as Hyenas, Jackals, Leopards and Lions of course, closely follow these herds. Gigantic herds of over 200 buffaloes can also be observed. Plenty of food is available for elephants, giraffes, and the many species of antelopes.
